TAFE Start Your Future in Information Technology and Drones

Willyama students with interest in further studies and a potential career in the Information Technology and Drone industry will be patricipating in taster lessons and the Broken Hill TAFE campus. This program, part of the NSW Government's TAFE NSW Start Your Future initiative, will run every Thursday during Term 3, from July 31 to September 18. It offers students a chance to explore Vocational Education and Training (VET) and develop important skills for their future careers. Through this program, students will receive practical demonstrations from highly qualified teachers and engage in hands-on activities. Learners will develop skills and knowledge in: Introduction to drone piloting Knowledge about drone components, functions, and flight principals Operating and controlling drones safely and learning flight maneuvers like takeoff, landing and navigating different environments Introduction to coding basics Understanding algorithms used to control drones, such as PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controllers for stabilization and navigation Debugging drone code to identify and fix programming errors or logical issues - Students will need to make their own way to and from the venue. - Students must bring their own food as there will be no opportunities to purchase food.
