Macquarie University - InRoads Excursion

Description:

The MQ InRoads Program is a five-day program, inclusive of travel days.

As part of the MQ InRoads Program for 2024, students will be involved in the following components:

• Mock lectures and tutorials, workshops and information sessions facilitated by a range of MQ academic and professional staff. These sessions are designed to provide a sample of what the university experience can and will look like for students;
• Skills-based workshops to equip students with practical skills to assist them in their senior years of schooling. These workshops may cover study techniques and career skills;
• An excursion to Sydney's CBD, featuring an engaging and educational visit to Circular Quay and key landmarks;
• Accommodation at Dunmore Lang College, one of the University's affiliated accommodation providers. Participants will experience firsthand what life is like at a university college; and
• A farewell dinner.

All transport, accommodation, catering (at the residential college) and Program costs (valued at $1500 per student) for students and teachers are covered by MQ.

Transport:

Students will be transported via coach to the Macquarie University, North Ryde (Wallumattagal) Campus.

Students will depart via Broken Hill High School (Garnet Street side) at approx 4.45am.
The estimated time of arrival at Macquarie Sydney University is 8.30pm.

They will be under supervision by Mr Ryan Coulter (Willyama High School Careers Advisor) and Ms Katelyn McLaren (BHHS Teacher).

Students will be collected from Broken Hill High School (Garnet Street), departure time is approx 4.45am

Students are reminded to NOT bring expensive items as the school and Macquarie University, takes no responsibility for any potential theft or loss.

Students attending this excursion are reminded that they are responsible to have any assessment tasks due for their subjects, completed and submitted prior to the excursion.
